During a conversation with a Mehr News Agency correspondent, Tayyar Fili stated that Dareh Shahr County, located alongside the Simreh River, has 16,000 hectares of cultivable agricultural lands, and in recent years, the process of equipping these lands with modern irrigation systems has commenced.
He noted that currently, 6,500 hectares of agricultural lands in this county have been equipped with modern irrigation systems, stating, “The flourishing of modern irrigation across the county has led to the diversification of agricultural products in this region.”
Fili emphasized that more than 50 types of crops, both agricultural and horticultural, are cultivated on the county’s agricultural lands, generating employment for over 6,000 people within the region.
He further mentioned ongoing projects, such as the Cham Zhab-Armu Pumping Station, aimed at implementing pressurized irrigation systems in the county’s lands.
The director of the Agricultural Jihad Organization in Dareh Shahr stated, “By utilizing this pumping station, the area under pressurized irrigation in the county will reach 10,000 hectares.”
He added, “Annually, 180,000 tons of agricultural products are produced in this county and supplied to domestic and foreign markets.”
